Warren Rayford Sublett “Ray”

Warren Rayford Sublett “Ray” was born April 14, 1935 in Charlotte Co, VA. He was the son of the late Joseph Warren Sublett and Ollie Harper Sublett. He passed away at Hunter Homes McGuire Veterans Medical Center in Richmond, VA on January 7, 2017. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Barbara Overby Sublett of Henrico, N.C.; his daughter, Bobbi Sublett Hickman and son-in-law Dwayne Hickman of Henrico, N.C.; his sister-in-law, Shirley Overby of Drewryville, Va.; his sister, Ruby Elder (Donald) and brother, R. Donald Sublett (Janet), all of Phenix, VA; and nieces and nephews. He was a disabled Veteran of the U.S. Navy; a graduate of and instructor at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard Apprentice School in Portsmouth, Va.; and a longtime employee of Hancock Peanut Co./ The Original Nut House in Courtland, VA. He was also a longtime resident of Southampton County, VA. Ray was currently a member of Prospect United Methodist Church in Ebony, VA and a former member of the Prospect United Methodist Men. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the building fund of Prospect United Methodist Church, Ebony, VA or the National Parkinson’s Foundation.
