Virginia Wray Wesson

Virginia Wray Wesson, age 80, of Lawrenceville, VA, passed away Friday, December 23, 2022. A lifelong resident of Brunswick County, she was the daughter of the late Winfred Littleton Wray and Viola Flowers Wray. She was also preceded in death by a sister Peggy Jean Hostetter, a brother Bobby Wayne Wray, and a great-granddaughter Leah Brooke Comly.

Mrs. Wesson will be remembered as the sunshine of the family and a best friend to us all. A beautiful person inside and out, she was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, always putting others before herself.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years Robert A. Wesson, Jr.; a daughter Kimberly W. Hite and husband Dwayne; grandchildren; Brittany Lucy and husband Aaron, Meghan Comly and husband Justin, Jessica Hite, Brandon and Ethan Hite; great-grandchildren, Kailynn and Madelyn Lucy, Layla and Charlotte Comly, Kaycen and Kyland Hite; a brother Winfred “Buddy” Wray, and a devoted niece Rickelle Murray and husband Jamie, as well as several great-nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, December 26, 2022 at Williams Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, VA. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Faith Baptist Church, 951 West Atlantic Street, Emporia, VA 23847. Interment will follow at Bethel Church Cemetery, Alberta, VA.
