On February 13, 2023, Sheryl Flood Baird, 67, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family and friends. Born and raised in Colonial Heights, VA in 1955, Sheryl married Dale Baird at the age of 19 and moved to Ebony, VA where she quickly became a deeply loved member of the community.
She worked at Lake Gaston Christian Life Centre as the church secretary for 35 years where she also served as choir director and deacon. In 2015 she became a Board Certified Christian Counselor with the American Association of Christian Counselors. She then founded Fresh Hope Ministries providing lay support services for mental health, substance abuse and grief counseling.
Sheryl’s steadfast faith and love for Christ manifested in a relentless sacrificial and unconditional love for so many – too numerous to count. Her impact will be felt for generations. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, crocheting and the Washington Capitals hockey team.
Sheryl will be dearly missed and always remembered. She was predeceased by her mother, Frances Flood, husband Dale Baird, and brother Keith Flood. She is survived by her father Leroy Flood, son Shawn Baird and daughter Kristin Gulbronson, daughter in law Jenny Baird and son in law Michael Gulbronson, and grandchildren Alex, Madyson, Jaxson, and London.
The family invites all who were touched by Sheryl to celebrate her life with them at the Lake Gaston Christian Life Center on Saturday, February 25, 2023: visitation at 10:00AM and service at 11:00 AM.
