Sherrell (Sherry) Wrenn Armishaw, of Prince George, VA, transitioned peacefully on Monday, June 30 after an almost two year, long hard fight with cancer. She was surrounded by family and her best friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, “Bus” and Eva Wrenn from Clifton Forge, VA and John Bernard and Ruby Elder of Charlotte County, VA; her father, James Wrenn; and brother-in-law, Bob Zimmerman. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Robert (Bob) Armishaw; mother, Joyce Wrenn Quick and husband, Travis; her daughter, Emily and husband Timothy Brockwell, their children, Grayson and Lila; son, Nicholas and wife Shanley Armishaw, their children Brianna, Michael, Willow and Rowan; as well as her sister, Tanya Zimmerman, a large extended family, and best friends for close to fifty years John and Beverly Cannady.
Always a Girl Scout, after about twenty years spending her time as a devoted mother carrying Emily around for various baton competitions or track meets and taking Nicholas to soccer games, she returned to doing what she loved. She spent as much time as she could outdoors tending to her garden and flowers. She also got away whenever she could to camp in a number of state parks with her Mommy, Travis, and Tanya where they enjoyed cooking over campfires and kayaking.
Sherry worked at Cline Chiropractic as office manager for over 30 years where she met a number of clients that became dear friends.
She loved American history especially the Civil War, volunteered giving tours at Blandford Cemetery for a short time after retiring. She was an avid reader of historical fiction, mysteries, and of course those sappy romance paperbacks. She and Bob have loved and homed a number of rescue cats and dogs over the years.
