Sharon Emory Cousins

Sharon Emory Cousins, age 64, a resident of Church Road, VA, passed away Sunday, October 3, 2021 at her residence.She was preceded in death by her father, William L. Emory, Sr. and a brother, William L. Emory, Jr. Sharon was a devoted Christian, wife, mother, and grandmother. Family was everything to her and she spent her life making sure they knew it. She never met a stranger, just great people. We have truly lost an earthly angel. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Matthew Allen Cousins, III; her children, Cathy Joe Reese and husband, Jerry, Matthew Allen Cousins, IV, and Courtney Dale Cousins; grandchildren, Zachery Wayne Cousins, Isabella Grace Ellison, Katie Lynn Reese, William Chase Cousins, and Isaac Blake Cousins; great-granddaughters, Brooklyn Elizabeth Cousins and Ava Shelby Cousins; her parents, Polly and Claude “Joe” Bryant; siblings, Terry Christopher, Ronnie Emory, and Sandra Humphries and husband, Linwood, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 8, 2021 at Smyrna Baptist Church, 18971 Carson Road, Dinwiddie, VA 23841, followed by interment at Asbury Memorial Cemetery, McKenney, VA. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Donate Life America, 701 East Byrd Street, 16th Floor, Richmond, VA 23219.
