Sandra Treaster Hammond

Sandra Treaster Hammond, age 76, of Colonial Heights, VA, passed away peacefully at her home on May 26, 2026.

She was the daughter of late Robert Wilson and Emma Jane Clements Treaster, and was also preceded in death by twin siblings, Phillip and Phyllis; and her best friend, Ann Kemp.

Sandra spent much of her youth in Prince George County and was a 1968 graduate of Prince George High School. She will be fondly remembered by her family as a loving wife and mother, who even though short in stature could cast a tall shadow.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Thomas A. Hammond; her sons, William R. Hammond and Stephen T. Hammond; grandchildren, Durst T. Hammond and Justin D. Love; a brother, Gary R. Treaster and wife, Kathy, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 27, 2026 at Highland United Methodist Church, 125 East Westover Avenue, Colonial Heights, VA 23834. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 10:00 a.m.

A private inurnment ceremony will take place at the Virginia Veterans Cemetery, Amelia, VA.
