Roy Allen Roberts, Jr.

Roy Allen Roberts, Jr. “Big Al”, age 75, of Freeman, VA, passed away Wednesday, May 12, 2021. He was the only child of the late Roy Allen Roberts, Sr. and Mary Barbara Roberts. After serving in the United States Air Force, Al applied his training to the telephone company until his retirement. Al was extremely passionate about music. He played the drums and ran sound and lighting for many bands throughout his life. He shared his love for music with his sons and granddaughter. Al also loved to watch his granddaughter play competitive softball for her school and travel team. He is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Peggy Clary Roberts; two sons, Roy Allen Roberts, III and wife, Darlene C. Roberts, and John Jordan Roberts; and a granddaughter, Emily Belle Roberts. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 15, 2021 at Williams Funeral Home & Crematory in Lawrenceville, VA. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.
