Roger Allen Barker

Roger Allen Barker, age 82, of Rawlings, VA, passed away Thursday, May 7, 2026.

He was born in Bristol, VA to the late Tom and Ottie Barker. He was a lifelong resident of Bristol, but due to medical reasons, he moved to Rawlings to be closer to family. He was a graduate of John S. Battle High School and worked for Kern’s Bakery and later for Blevins Tire before retiring.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Linda; brother and sister-in-law, Bobby and Ackie Barker; sister and brother-in-law, Joan and Michael Johnson; sister, Donna Malone; brother-in-law, Jack Johnson; grandson, David Keefe.

Mr. Barker is survived by two children, Jody Barker (April) of Maryville, Tennessee, and Shannon Keefe (Todd) of Rawlings, Virginia; grandchildren, Kacie, Thomas, Timothy, Langley, Lily, and Laurel; brother, Wayne Barker (Wanda); sister, Joyce Johnson; brother-in-law, Bob Malone; several nieces and nephews; and special nieces, Dawn Goins and Leigh Hobbs.

A service will be held at a later date at Pine Hill Cemetery in Phillips, VA.
