Robert Avon Gholson

Robert Avon Gholson, son of the late Samuel and Leater E. Gholson, was born October 28, 1951, in Brunswick County, Virginia. He entered into eternal rest on April 29, 2025, at Lawrenceville Health & Rehabilitation, Lawrenceville, Virginia.

He attended school in Brunswick County.

Robert enjoyed cutting grass and working in the flower garden at home, and he had a green thumb.

Robert worked for Jones and Meredith Construction for many years, and Walmart for 15 years.

Robert was preceded in death by his brother Frederick L. Gholson.

Robert leaves cherished memories to his three brothers, Raymond (Mary) of Lawrenceville, VA, Howard Gholson of Augusta, GA, and Roger Gholson of Brodnax, VA, three sisters, Annie Walker (Robert) of Emporia, VA, Inez Gholson of Lawrenceville, VA, and Eloise Mason of Alberta, VA, sister-in-law, Lydia Gholson of Brodnax, VA, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, and a devoted nephew Marshall Gholson.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 17, 2025 at Ogden Presbyterian Church, 2460 Grandy Road, Brodnax, VA 23920.
