Richard Cary "Ricky" Eley, Jr.

Ricky passed away peacefully on Sunday July 5th, surrounded by loved ones. Ricky is preceded in death by his father, Richard Cary Eley Sr and his mother, Myrna Faye Trent Eley.

Ricky is survived by his devoted partner, Susan Newman, who has been by his side for the last 3 years. He is also survived by his sister, April Eley Barrett (Tommy), niece Jennifer Lewis, nephew, James Lewis Jr. and great nephew Gage Lewis as well as numerous cousins and close friends, whom he loved dearly.

Ricky was a retired business owner and worked as an ASE Certified Machinist, specializing in engine building and repair. Ricky was a history buff and was passionate about Civil War and Revolutionary war relic identification. He spent much of his time diving in local rivers pursuing that passion. Ricky was known to “tinker” with this and that around his house and shop and enjoyed spending time with close friends and family.

Ricky was known to his beloved friends as just an all around “good guy.” He was always the first to visit with friends in the hospital, offering well wishes and support for others.

The family will receive friends at Central Baptist Church at 6405 Courthouse Road Church Road VA 23833 at 10 am Friday, July 10th, with the service immediately following at 11 am. Interment will be held privately at a later date.
