Richard Earle Pernell, Sr.

Richard Earle Pernell, Sr., age 75, of Brodnax, VA, passed away Saturday, September 4, 2021.Born in Roanoke Rapids, NC, he was the son of the late Horace Wilson Pernell and Audrey Cordon Clarke Pernell. He was also preceded in death by two daughters, Pamela Solomon and Sandra Pernell. Mr. Pernell loved to fish and would go every time he got the chance. He was a devoted grandfather and spent as much time as he could with his great-grandchildren. He will be remembered by his family as a very caring and giving man. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Susan Jean Pernell; daughters, Susan Ann Clark, Susette Jeanette Clark, and Peggy Sue Pernell; a son, Richard Earle Pernell, Jr. and wife, Jessica Ellen Pernell; 13 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, David Pernell (Connie) and Stewart Pernell (Lottie). A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at Williams Funeral Home & Crematory in Lawrenceville, VA.
