Nancy Overman Welton

Nancy Overman Welton, age 79, a longtime resident of Dinwiddie, VA, and widow of James T. “Jimmy” Welton, passed away Friday, April 19, 2024.

A daughter of the late Quinton D. and Elizabeth Coffee Overman, Nancy lived her early life in Richmond, VA and graduated from Highland Springs High School. While living in Dinwiddie, she was a faithful member of Lebanon United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school for many years. A retired employee of Owen Printing in Petersburg, she enjoyed reading, cooking, and flower gardening. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her granddaughters.

She is survived by her sons, James Andrew “Andy” Welton (Ann) and John Gregory Welton (Cassia); granddaughters, Bailey and Sydney Welton; step-granddaughter, Abagail Cook; a sister, Evelyn Welti; a brother, Mark Overman (Debbie).

The family would like to thank the entire staff of Petersburg Home for Ladies for the exceptional care provided over the past nine years.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, April 25, 2024 at Lebanon United Methodist Church, 12450 Courthouse Road, Dinwiddie, VA 23841. A graveside funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday at Oakwood Cemetery in Lawrenceville, VA.
