Mary Ann Crawford Potts

Mary Ann Crawford Potts, affectionately known as “MyMy,” age 94, a longtime resident of Church Road, VA, passed away Monday, October 19, 2026.

Born in Petersburg, VA, she was the daughter of the late Roy William and Hattie Jane Poore Crawford. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, James Watkins Potts; a great-grandson, Crawford Wayne Cunningham; her brothers, Roy William Crawford, Jr. and wife Erma, and Clyde Warren Crawford; and a brother-in-law, Benjamin Calvin Potts.

A longtime member of Trinity Community Methodist Church, Mrs. Potts was a founding member of the Helen Williamson Circle in 1955 and established the Chrismon program. She was also a member of the Tri-City Christian Woman’s Club.

She is survived by a daughter, Jane Potts Mann; a granddaughter, Jannabeth Cunningham and husband, Matthew; great-grandchildren, Copelynn Crawford, Hattie Joyce, and James Matthew; sisters-in-law, Barbara Potts and Marie Crawford; a chosen sister, Jean Brandon, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and dance school students.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 23, 2026 at Trinity Community Methodist Church, Church Road, VA. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall.
