Marjorie Clarke Ellis

Marjorie Clarke Ellis, widow of Francis M. Ellis, of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, formerly of Lawrenceville, VA passed away Thursday, January 2, 2020. She was 94 years old, born to the union of the late Walter and Adna Mitchell Clarke. Marjorie was a former store clerk for Peebles Department Store and member of Camargo Methodist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, Francis Marion Ellis, Sr. She is survived by her son, Frankie Ellis and fiancé Ginni; three grandchildren, Melissa (James) Swango, Amanda (Chris) Blevins and Teresa Brooke Chesteen; seven great-grandchildren, Patrick Swango, Gabrielle Swango, Ethan Chesteen, Mia Chesteen, Payton Chesteen, Skylar Blevins, and Haley Guy; two sisters, Marie Peebles and Barbara Carpenter; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Williams Funeral Home, Lawrenceville with interment at Philadelphia United Methodist Church Cemetery, Triplet, VA. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
