Marilyn Spence Marston

Marilyn Spence “Susie” Marston, age 79, a lifelong resident of Lawrenceville, VA, passed away Sunday, May 11, 2025.

Susie was the daughter of the late Willie and Gracie Conner Spence. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Lawrence Marston; a sister, Nelda Spence Evans; brothers, Willis Paige Spence and Wilbur Wyatt Spence.

She is survived by a daughter, Laurie Ellen Marston; Jerry’s son, Michael Lawrence Marston; grandchildren, Destiny Clary Esget, Dylan Cade Clary, Drue Cierra Clary, and Cody Michael Marston; great-grandchildren, Denali Silas Preston and Demi Sevyn Preston; a sister, Nan Ellen Finch; and a brother, Aubrey Darrell Spence, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and her beloved dogs Sweet Girl and Belle.

Susie enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially cutting grass, taking rides to the lake, spending time with her family, and listening to her “oldies but goodies” music.

A funeral service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, May 15, 2025 at Williams Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, VA, followed by interment at Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the funeral service beginning at 3:00 p.m.
