Marie Zahradka Wilson

Marie Zahradka Wilson, age 85, of Gaston, NC, formerly a resident of Dinwiddie County, VA, passed away at her home on Wednesday, April 1, 2026.

Born in Prince George County, VA, she was the daughter of the late James and Angela Horak Zahradka. She was also preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.

She was a longtime employee of The Progress-Index in Petersburg, VA.

Mrs. Wilson is survived by her husband of 59 years, G.C. Wilson, Jr.; her children, G.C. Wilson, III (Shelly) and Kelly Evans (Barry); grandchildren, Elizabeth Ceaser (Kareem) and Matthew Evans; a great-grandson, Jamison Ceaser, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday, April 6, 2026 at Victory Baptist Church, 2360 Bolling Road, Roanoke Rapids, NC 27870. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 7, 2026 in the mausoleum at Southlawn Memorial Park, 1911 Birdsong Road, S. Prince George, VA 23805. The family will greet friends prior to the service.
