Mabel Berrier Anderson

March 23, 1927 — March 2, 2026

Mabel Berrier Anderson, a resident of the community of Namozine in Amelia County, passed away at her home on Monday, March 2, 2026, just shy of her upcoming 99th birthday on March 23rd.

She was the daughter of the late Thomas Jefferson and Dorsia Leonard Berrier, and was also preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Gonjoe Anderson; a son, Jeff Anderson; son-in-law, Maxwell Watkins, as well as all of her siblings.

For 60 years, Mabel and Gonjoe owned and operated Namozine Store which remains a landmark today. She had a love for flower gardening, birds, especially Cardinals, sewing, shopping, and antiques.

Mrs. Anderson is survived by her children, Debbie Orr (Wayne), Keith Anderson (Beverly), and Susan Watkins; daughter-in-law, Beth Anderson; grandchildren, Chris Orr (Shanna), Mark Orr (Shelly), Nick Watkins (Matt), Cody Watkins (Melissa), Elizabeth Harris (C.P.), and Brandy Wright (D.J.); step grandchildren, Tyler and Logan Griner; great-grandchildren, Hunter, Caitie Grace, Jackson, Luke, Baby Maxwell, Jennings, Harry, Gray, Carter, and Bella, step great-grandchildren, Betty, and Annie Fleming Harris, faithful nephew, Gonjoe “Buzzy” Winn and additional nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank her devoted caregivers, Melodie Dittman and Patty Sanchez, for the outstanding care they provided.

A private service will be held at Little Flock Cemetery, Amelia, VA.
