Lucy Delbridge Gauldin

Lucy Delbridge Gauldin, age 73, a resident of Warfield, VA, passed away Friday, August 21, 2026.

She was the daughter of the late Kelly William Delbridge and Hinda Delbridge Greenlaw. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Raymond Gauldin, Jr.; a granddaughter, Kaylee Gauldin; and a brother, William Samuel Delbridge.

Lucy was a truly special woman whose sweetness, kindness, and generosity touched everyone fortunate enough to know her. She had a warmth that made people feel instantly comfortable, and her beautiful smile could brighten any room. Lucy had the best sense of humor and a gift for making people laugh, while always putting others before herself. She loved her family deeply—her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were among the greatest joys of her life. Her home was always open, her table always ready, and no one ever left without being fed, cared for, and loved. Her famous biscuits were just one of the many ways she showed her love. She cherished quiet moments swinging on the porch, watching Hallmark movies, and spending time with her dog, Lola.

Lucy’s love for her family was matched by her deep and unwavering faith. A lifelong member of Pleasant Hill Christian Church, she was a true prayer warrior, faithfully lifting up the people she loved and leaving a legacy of faith through the generations.

She missed her beloved Charles deeply, and there is great comfort in knowing they are now reunited. Lucy leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, laughter, hospitality, and countless memories that will be treasured by all who knew her. She made the world feel a little warmer simply by being in it.

Mrs. Gauldin is survived by her children, Teresa Gauldin Rogers and husband, Tom, Stephanie Gauldin Clary, and Charles R. “Trey” Gauldin III and wife, Christie; grandchildren, Ethan and fiancée Rayne, Taylor and husband Travis, Luke and wife Meredith, Hayley, Madyson and fiancé Damian, Charlie, Isabella, and Ryleigh; great-grandchildren, Charley, Dean, Hayes, Lucy, and Millie; a brother, Wilson Lee Delbridge and wife, Linda, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Saturday, August 29, 2026 at Williams Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, VA. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Pleasant Hill Christian Church in Gasburg, VA, followed by interment in the church cemetery.
