Lewis Alvin Browder, Jr.

Lewis Alvin Browder Jr., (Aaron Weissberg) 63, a resident of Richmond, Va., passed away December 24, 2023, after battling cancer. He was predeceased by his parents Lewis Alvin Browder Sr. and Linda Efird Browder.

He is survived by Javier Rosales, his devoted partner of more than 25 years, brother Linwood Browder (Cindy), sister Loretta Santos (David), niece Zoie Browder, nephews Dylan and Griffin Santos.

He was a 1978 graduate of Hermitage High School and a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University. He was a long-time member of the Beth-Ahabah Congregation and had been a member of the Beth-El temple both in Richmond, VA . 

He was a committed gardener, who started at a young age with his passion and green thumb for growing roses and amazing gardens throughout his life. He was also an avid cyclist, tennis player, fisherman, a talented painter and potter. He favored the impressionist style of painting and sold paintings through the First Unitarian Universalist art and craft show in Richmond, VA. He had been a member for many years at the Weinstein Jewish Community Center (JCC) in Richmond, VA and showed his paintings there. He loved crocheting afghans and crafted more than one hundred and fifty blankets which brought him great joy to share with family and friends.

Services will be held Wednesday, December 27, at Williams Funeral Home, Lawrenceville, Va. Visitation 1 p.m, funeral services 2 p.m.
