John M. Wright

John M. Wright, age 80, of Brodnax, VA, passed away Wednesday, May 22, 2024.

John was a retired employee of the Virginia Department of Transportation. He was a member of Ruth Memorial Chapel and a lifetime member of Central Volunteer Rescue Squad. He enjoyed cleaning and detailing cars, took great pride in his truck, and enjoyed cutting grass.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Givens Wright and Pattie Lynch Wright; brothers, John Wright, Jr., William Coleman “Buck” Wright, James Wright, and Otto “Dude” Wright; sisters, Bettie Sue Dixon and Ellie “Cookie” Wright.

John is survived by a sister, Shirley Ann Wright; special niece, Loretta Bottoms (Scotty); a nephew, Atlas Wright (Tonya), numerous great-nieces and nephews, and many great-great-nieces and nephews.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 24, 2024 at the Tabernacle Church Cemetery in White Plains, VA.
