Jesse Carroll Roberts

Jesse Carroll Roberts, age 92, of Lawrenceville, VA passed away February 6, 2017. He was born in Dolphin, VA to the late Lindsey and Bertha Roberts. He was a member of Liberty Methodist Church in Dolphin, VA and attended Edgerton United Methodist Church in Lawrenceville where he enjoyed helping with the mens breakfast. In his later years he attended Ocran United Methodist Church in Sutherland. Jesse and Madeline owned and operated the Lawrenceville Dari Treat; he then found his passion in life and started his own business as a Painting Contractor. When he wasn’t working he was enjoying fishing and watching his beloved Atlanta Braves. He is preceded in death by his wife, Madeline Malone Roberts; two sisters, Elisabeth Temple and Hildridge Lucy, his brothers, Allen, Gordon and Charles Roberts. He is survived by his two daughters, Carroll Lynch and husband Paul and Ann House and husband Larry; his grandchildren, Chris Lynch and wife Kim, Jennifer H. Hinshaw and husband Richard and Ashton House and wife Leigh Ann; his great grandchildren, McKinley, Coleman and Annalise Hinshaw and Emma and Luke House; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Friday at Williams Funeral Home, Lawrenceville with interment at Oakwood Cemetery, Lawrenceville, VA. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home, Lawrenceville. Memorial contributions may be made to Edgerton United Methodist Church, 92 County Pond Rd., Lawrenceville, VA 23868 or Ocran United Methodist Church Preschool, 20807 Cox Rd. Sutherland, VA 23885.
