Jeffrey Thomas Childrey

Jeffrey Thomas Childrey, age 65, of Lawrenceville, VA, passed away at his home on Saturday, October 17, 2026. He was preceded in death by his father, Tom Childrey.

Born in South Boston, VA, he was raised in Lawrenceville and graduated with honors from Brunswick Senior High School in 1979. Jeff enjoyed a long career as a land surveyor, most of which was in Raleigh, NC. He will be remembered most for his outgoing nature and sense of humor.

He is survived by his mother, Barbara Childrey; a brother, Todd Childrey (Beth), his cats, “Bella” and “Maximus,” as well as many friends.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 21, 2026 at James Square Baptist Church. The family will greet friends after the service.
