Jeanette Faye Snead, age 91, a resident of Petersburg, VA, passed away Monday, July 13, 2026.
Born in Chicago, IL, she was the daughter of the late William Frank Lave and Cornelia Meyers Lave. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Lindsey Conrad Snead, and her brothers, Willard Lave and Daniel Lave.
She enjoyed reading, cooking, and listening to Neil Diamond. Her quick wit and humor were enjoyed by most. Whether sharing stories around the kitchen table or offering a listening ear, she left a lasting impression on many.
Her greatest joy was her family, and she treasured every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Though our hearts are broken by her passing, we find comfort in the countless memories she gave us and the love she leaves behind. Her legacy of grace, strength, and unwavering devotion will continue to inspire us.
Mrs. Snead is survived by her children, James Simaner (Irene), Jim Simonick (Lisa), John Simonick (Sharon), Dale Snead (Michele), Lynnette Onuska (Bill), and David Snead (Beth); grandchildren, Joshua Snead (Adalyn), Maddison Onuska, Bryan Onuska, Lindsey Snead, Emily Snead, Sydney Snead, Thomas Simonick, and Michael Simonick; great-granddaughter, Emerson Johnston; sister-in-law, Linda Sizemore (Larry); a niece, Darlene Richey (Kevin); great-nieces, Abigail Richey and Elyse Richey; and special friend, Lee Kelly.
