Jean Motto Foster

Jean Motto Foster, age 94, of South Chesterfield, VA, passed away Sunday, March 10, 2024. A lifelong resident of Chesterfield County and Colonial Heights, she was the daughter of the late Peter Paul and Eleanor Mayes Motto. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Marvin Gray Foster; her brother, Earl Motto; sisters, Sue Boyd and Shirley Bardo.

Mrs. Foster will be remembered as a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved her home on Lake Chesdin where she resided since 1983. She enjoyed working in her yard and flower gardens, feeding the animals around her home, and time spent with her family.  

Mrs. Foster is survived by her children, Jeffrey G. Foster, Lori F. Meredith (Lew), Mary F. Shornak (Craig); grandchildren, Benjamin Foster (Kim), Ainsley Foster, Delaney Foster, Morgan Boston (Joe), Lucas Meredith (Chelsea), Carly Williams (Cole), and Corey Shornak (Chandler); great-grandchildren, Madeleine, Nolan, Kemper, Collin, Cheney, Copeland, Landyn, Nash, Temple, and Carson; a brother, Franklin Motto (Faye); sisters-in-law, Peggy F. McGee, Eloise F. Saunders, Georgina D. Foster, and Alice O. Foster; brother-in-law, Herbert Boyd; a devoted caregiver, Edith Smith, as well as nieces, nephews, and a large extended family.

A funeral service will be conducted at Noon on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church followed by interment at Sunset Memorial Park in Chester, VA . The family will receive friends prior to the funeral service beginning at 11:00 a.m.
