James Norborne Abernathy, Jr.

James Norborne Abernathy, Jr., age 91, passed away Monday, November 16, 2020. A lifelong resident of Rawlings, VA, he was the son of the late James Norborne and Mary Elizabeth Jones Abernathy. He was a lifelong farmer, an avid rabbit hunter, and loved his Beagles. He will be remembered as a kind, hardworking man who loved his family very much. Mr. Abernathy is survived by his wife of 72 years, Jane Daniel Abernathy; a daughter, Dale A. Rogers (Hildrey L. Winn); grandchildren, Jamie Rogers (Tracey) and Tony Rogers (Amy); great-grandchildren, T.J. Rogers, Jordan Rogers, Courtney K. Caudle, Aaron Ruddick, and Mallie Ruddick; and a great-great-granddaughter, Brinley Bunch. Services will be private however condolences may be expressed at www.williamsfuneralhomeva.com.
