Georgia L. Clary

September 16, 1942 — December 24, 2023

Georgia L. Clary, 81, of Petersburg, VA, passed away peacefully in her sleep Christmas Eve morning. She was born in Brunswick County, moved to Petersburg as a teenager and never left.

She was predeceased by her parents, Fred D. Clary and Louise Freeman Clary, and stepmother that became her mother, Selma C. Clary. Also by her siblings, Fred D. Clary, Jr., Rena Painter, Alice Dewberry, and Olgia Lee Callis.

She is survived by her nieces, Sandra Callis (Kim), Debbie Dewberry (Chris), and Colleen Wagg (John); nephew, Allen Dewberry, Jr.; great-nephews, Bryan Dance (Ashley) and Jacob Friel (Beth); and several great-great-nieces and nephew. She is also survived by best friend, Rebel Workman of Florida.

Georgia was a Legal Secretary for over 50 years for James Andrews. She fussed about it daily but absolutely loved her job. Georgia was a friend to everyone and loved to have fun. She also loved her cats, they were her babies.

When she became sick, there were several friends that helped her in any way they could, B.G. Brinkley, Kathy Ferguson, Terry Morgan, and her neighbor, Sarah Raines.

She will be missed by many but especially by her family and close friends.
