Francis Milton Watson, Sr., age 92, of Freeman, VA, passed away Monday, April 6, 2026.
Mr. Watson grew up in Lunenburg County and was the son of the late William Francis Watson and Mattie St. John Giles. He retired after 25 years as a millwright and welder at Philip Morris. He was an avid horseman and loved to trail ride and camp with his friends. He also enjoyed coon hunting and riding his motorcycle. Most of all, he enjoyed time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Parrish Watson; a son, Pete Watson (Teresa); two daughters, Lydia Watson Codutti and Sandra Watson Levy; grandchildren, Joshua Levy, Nicholas Codutti (Jennifer), Sara Cowan (Dan), and William “Rooster” Watson (Samantha), nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Elizabeth Jenkins, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, April 11, 2026 at Williams Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, VA. The family will receive friends prior to the funeral service beginning at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Lakeview Cemetery in Victoria, VA.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dolphin Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 67, Dolphin, VA 23843.
