Frances King Conner

Frances King Conner, age 90, passed away peacefully on September 2, 2026, after enduring liver disease for over 30 years. She is reunited with her husband, James Garland “Boodie” Conner.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie Bee King and Ellen Clary King; her sisters, Faye Edenbeck, Mabel Ezell and Mae Grizzard.

Frances is survived by her daughter, Gayle Clary (Tommy); grandchildren, Nicole Clary-Lomerson (Stephen) and Matthew J. Clary; great-grandchildren, Emma and Aidan Lomerson; siblings, Emma Clark, Linda Overton, Stella Bohannon, Susan Vaughan, Charles P. King, Charlie B. King, Jr., and Keith King, as well as many nieces and nephews.

She taught Sunday school preteens and teens for many years with faith and love. In her earlier years, she was a great seamstress. Before retiring from Allen’s Drug and Walker’s Drug Store, she made a lot of chicken, tuna and pimento cheese at the lunch counter. She also liked displaying Russell Stover Candy, but a lot of family would say her homemade chocolate fudge was the best. She enjoyed many family outings at holidays, birthdays, or just a Saturday and we know it called for a lot of country cooking and many treasured memories.

The family will receive friends beginning at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 5, 2026 at Williams Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, VA. The funeral service will begin at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home followed by interment at Olive Branch U.M. Church in Gasburg, VA.
