Ernest Benjamin Newcomb, Jr.

Ernest Benjamin “Sonny” Newcomb, Jr., age 83, of Emporia, VA passed away April 17, 2023.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Earnest Benjamin Newcomb, Sr. and Estelle Newcomb; his daughter, Sharon N. Gay; and his sister, Nancy Foster. He is survived by his son, Kenny Newcomb (Steve); step-son, Zach Davis; grandchildren, Matthew Gay and Ricky Guthrie, Jr; two great grandchildren and one on the way; brother, Larry Newcomb (Suzie); and sisters, Judy Tudor (Kenneth), Shirley Wells and Doris James.  

Sonny worked for Butler Lumber Company for over 45 years and was a well-known Billiard Player. 

A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 23, 2023, at Williams Funeral Home, Lawrenceville.  The family will receive friends after the service.
