Emma Sue Washburn Roberts

Emma Sue Washburn Roberts “Granny” of Meredithville, VA, age 95, passed away peacefully September 23, 2017. Emma Sue was predeceased by her parents, Fletcher and Janie Sue Washburn and husband Allen L. Roberts of 53 years. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Vernon L. Roberts and wife Peggy of Richmond, VA and Linda Sue Lewis and husband G.W. of Rice, VA; three grandchildren, Stephanie Larry (Todd), Tara Lewis and Clint Lewis (Mandy); two great grandchildren, Emma Lewis and Hudson Lewis; and one brother, Earl Washburn (Minnie). Emma Sue was a faithful member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church for 55 years. She lived her life as a true Christian serving her family and God. She will be remembered as a wonderful Mom and Granny to most and for her beautiful yard. She will be truly missed. The funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Williams Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, VA with interment at Crestview Memorial Park, La Crosse, VA. The family will receive friends Wednesday, one hour prior to the service.
