Elmer Madison "Buddy" Barricks, Jr.

Elmer Madison “Buddy” Barricks, Jr., age 80, of Warfield, VA, formerly of Matoaca, VA, passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2026.

Born and raised in Matoaca, VA, he was the son of the late Elmer Madison “Bill” Barricks, Sr. and Margaret Elizabeth Joyner Barricks. He was also preceded in death by a son, Michael Gregory Barricks; a grandson, Michael Gregory Barricks; and a sister, Joyce Ricks and her husband, Dee.

Buddy was a talented master carpenter and enjoyed a long career as a general contractor. He retired from the Chesterfield County Public School System in 2016. He will be remembered most as a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Faye Aycock Barricks; his children, Cindy Hogwood, Buddy Kingery, Bobby Kingery (Ray), Lori Blalock (Perry), Stan Barricks, Sean Kingery (Jean), Todd Barricks (Audra); grandchildren, Angela, Ryan, Allison, Mandy, Amy, Billy, John K., John B., Justin, Heather, Dustin, Hunter, Hannah, J.R., Dillon, Madison, Cody, Kayla, and Beau, 22 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, a niece, Kristy; a special family friend, Debbie Sanderson, as well as a large extended family.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 19, 2026 at East Matoaca Cemetery, Matoaca, VA.
