Elizabeth Steed Raney

Elizabeth Steed Raney, age 98, of Freeman, Virginia was born September 19, 1924 and died Thursday, February 2, 2023 at her residence in the E. H. Bloom Retirement Center in Emporia, Va.  Elizabeth was a dedicated Virginia Tech Hokie fan. She was the widow of the late John Raney and is survived by one son; five grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.  There will be a private graveside service with no visitation at the funeral home or family home.  Please respect our privacy at this time.  The family is forever grateful for the administration and staff at the E. H. Bloom Retirement Center and Hospice of Virginia for taking such good care of her.  In lieu of flowers, please donate to the charity of your choice.
