Edward Thomas "Tommy" Lee, Jr.

October 29, 1960 — March 23, 2026

Edward Thomas Lee, Jr. passed away Monday, March 23 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was the son of Barbara Cannon Lee and the late Ed Lee of Emporia, Virginia. Tommy grew up in Greensville County, graduated from Brunswick Academy and Louisburg College.

After graduation, he went to work for American Airlines, first in Raleigh and then in Miami. He worked for them for 29 years during which time he served as a crew chief and as president of the local union.

After he retired, he spent much of his time in Lawrenceville where he enjoyed being with family and old friends and helping take care of the family farm. After many years in the cities, he thoroughly enjoyed the peace and quiet of the country and quickly got reacquainted with the country way of life.

Tommy loved being with people, never met a stranger, was always willing to listen to those who were troubled and always willing to lend a hand wherever one was needed. Other than his mother, Tommy is survived by his brother, David and wife, Nan; his precious nieces, Kacy Lee and Sienna Lee; his longtime friend, Wilfredo Acosta; his aunts, Barbara Drake and Dale Cannon; his uncle Southgate Lee and wife Rose and many others who will hold memories of him forever in their hearts.

Tommy's Virginia family would like to extend much appreciation to all his friends in Florida, who brought him into their families and helped make his life full of joy and happiness. Special among those are Barbie and Sergio.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 31, 2026 at Oakwood Cemetery in Lawrenceville, VA.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or your favorite charity.
