Edward Henry Smith

Edward H. Smith “Booty” departed this life on August 18, 2018 at the age of 82. He was preceded in death by his parents, William J. and Annie B. Smith; sister, Doris S. DuPriest; and brother, William J. Smith, Jr. He is survived by one sister, Alice S. Kellam and husband George; and seven nieces and nephews. “Booty” served as a Military Policeman in the U.S. Army from 1954 – 1964 where he was stationed in Munich, Germany. After returning home he worked for the U.S. Postal Service as both a postal clerk and a rural carrier. A lifetime member of Lawrenceville United Methodist Church, he was also a member of the American Legion. A graveside service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 25, at Oakwood Cemetery, Lawrenceville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lawrenceville United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 2, Lawrenceville, VA 23868.
