Edna Gibson Riegel Whitby, age 85, of Lawrenceville, VA, passed away at her home on Saturday, February 26, 2022.A lifelong resident of Brunswick County, she was the daughter of the late John Jefferson Gibson and Beulah Mae Browder Gibson. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Bun Riegel, a son, Jeff Riegel, and a grandson, Coty Mills. She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Wilson Whitby; her children, William Darrell Riegel (Andrea), Denise Moore (Thurman), Renee Mills (Ricky); daughter-in-law, Aimie Butler; grandchildren, Kristin Andrade (Matt), Brianne Hostutler (Andrew), Andy Riegel (fiancé Bethany Thames), Hannah Riegel (friend Nik), Damon Cash, Jami Elliott (Jamie), Shane Moore, Shasta Ayala (Josue), Kacee Mullins (Jesse), Savannah Mills (significant other Buddah), Bryan King (April), Collette Yeatts (Jeremy), Angela Grennan (Terry), and Susannah Butler; great-grandchildren, Emma, Ethan, Olivia, Hayden, Hadley, Cadence, Kyndal, Taylin, Adalyn, Taylor, Gabe, Ruby, Emerson, Logan, Brody, Hunter, Mia, Ethan, Carson, and Jacob; sister, Mattie Lewis; brother, Ronnie Gibson; special friends, Andy and Dana. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 5, 2022 at Williams Funeral Home & Crematory of Lawrenceville, VA.
