Earnest Earl Bunch, age 84, a longtime resident of Dinwiddie County, VA, passed away at his home on Sunday, December 21, 2025.
Born in Chowan County, NC, he was the son of the late Louis Norman and Eunice McClenney Bunch. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Louis Norman Bunch, Jr. and Marvin Ray Bunch.
A veteran of the U.S. Army, Earl moved with his family to Dinwiddie County in 1975.
He became active with Rocky Run Baseball, as a coach for many years and board member of the Rocky Run Athletic Association. Earl was a respected business owner in Dinwiddie as the operator of Dinwiddie Lawn Equipment for 20 years. He was also a longtime member of Smyrna Baptist Church and a founding member of the Dinwiddie Association of Men (DAM).
Earl is survived by his wife of 60 years, Camilla Bunch; sons, Steve Bunch (Lisa) and David Bunch (Kim); grandchildren, Lindsay Miller (Hucky), Tristen Bunch (Taylor), Taylor Bell (Cody), Cole Bunch; great-grandchildren, Turner, John Lake, and Reese Miller, Brinley and Tate Bunch, Camden and Whitley Bell; sisters, Carolyn Hobbs (Carroll), Janice Jones (Milway), as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 29, 2025 at Smyrna Baptist Church, 18971 Carson Road, Dinwiddie, VA 23841. Interment with military honors will follow at Southlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the funeral service beginning at 12:00 p.m.
