Dorothy Ruth Seward Blanton

Dorothy Ruth Seward Blanton, “Dottie”, passed away at CMH-VCU Healthcenter on Sunday May 31, 2020. She is survived by her husband Ronnie Blanton, Sr.; her three children, Sherry White, Ronnie Blanton, Jr. and Paul (Lena) Blanton; six grandchildren, Brittany (Jeremy) Easter, Tyler Blanton, Tavaria Blanton, Tristian Blanton, Kaley Blanton and Ronnie Blanton; one great granddaughter, Paris Alston; three siblings, Nancy White, Earnest (Phyllis) Seward and Vivian (Earl) Stamper; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Affectionately known as Dottie, she loved her children and especially her grandchildren. Dottie always spoiled her grandchildren and devoted a lot of her time playing games and keeping her grandchildren. She also loved to go fishing, shopping and bingo. Dottie had a heart of gold and she loved helping others. She will truly be missed but never forgotten. Dottie was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Ruth Seward and her brother, Joe Seward, Jr. A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at Oakwood Park Cemetery, Lawrenceville, VA.
