David Eugene Conlee

May 16, 1953 — April 10, 2026

David Eugene Conlee, aka “The Pool Man,” born May 16, 1953, passed away on April 10, 2026. He was a beloved father, Poppie, and friend whose presence brought warmth and joy to those who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Zelma Vaughn Conlee; his wife, Karen Hicks Conlee; a brother-in-law, R.G. Wolfrey.

David is survived by his daughters, Daiva Conlee-Lipford and husband, Justin Lipford, and Danna Conlee and wife, Eleanore Conlee; grandchildren, Lexee Conlee and Chaize Conlee-Lipford; step-grandchildren, Lauren (Ava), Justin, & Brody; his father, Donald Conlee; sisters, Debbie Spivey and husband, Chuck Spivey of Dinwiddie, VA and Tina Wolfrey of Charlotte, NC; brothers, Bobby Conlee and wife, Sheila Conlee of Wilsons, VA, and Charlie Conlee and wife, Brenda Conlee of Collins, MO, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family in Tennessee.

David will be remembered most for his love of the outdoors and simple pleasures in life. Whether he was sweating over swimming pools, spending quiet mornings deer hunting, casting a line while fishing, walking the beach metal detecting, or simply enjoying the company of family, he found happiness in the moments that mattered most.

Above all, David cherished time with his grandchildren, Lexee and Chaize, who were the light of his life. He took great pride in watching them grow and creating memories they will carry with them always.

He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and appreciation for life’s everyday blessings. David will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
