Clifton Floyd Perkinson, age 97, a longtime resident of Dinwiddie County, VA, passed away Tuesday, January 13, 2026. He resided at Dunlop House for the past two years where he was cared for by special people.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifton Arthur and Ruby Wilson Perkinson; his wife of 62 years, Mary Edith Wells Perkinson; a son, Larry Perkinson; siblings, Agnes Orton, Garnette Savage, and Geanette Crowder.
Mr. Perkinson retired from Allied Signal after a long career. He was a member of the former Crawford United Methodist Church, but in recent years attended Carson United Methodist Church. He had many interests and hobbies, but caring for his yard took priority over everything else. He was especially proud of his years as a USSSA Umpire. He was a lifelong outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and taking walks through the woods.
He is survived by a daughter, Brenda Perkinson Reese and husband, Ronnie; a son, George Perkinson and wife, Donna; daughter-in-law, Marcia Perkinson; grandchildren, Timmy Perkinson, Mark Reese and wife, Melanie, Nicholas Perkinson and wife, Megan, Amy Rainey, and Hanna McLaughlin and husband, Michael; great-grandchildren, Kayla Bakay and husband, Ryan, Caden Rainey, Nolan Perkinson, Easton Rainey, Josslyn McLaughlin, Grace Perkinson, Cooper Rainey, Jameson McLaughlin, and Eli Reese; a great-great-grandson, Bodhi Bakay; siblings, Helen Cain, Ruby Leonard and husband, John, and Warren Perkinson, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 22, 2026 at Southlawn Memorial Park.
