Charles Andrew Moore

Charles Andrew Moore (90), was born on December 28, 1932 and departed this life on March 15, 2023. He was preceded in death by his wife Josy Moore and son Charles Andrew Moore, Jr (Andy),

He is survived by his daughter Betsy Draper and husband Calvin of Emporia, VA and their daughters and families - Emily and Brian Ligon (Matt and Max) of Emporia, VA. Kelli and Lance Wyatt (Sydney) of Emporia, VA and Allison and James Weidman of Freeman, VA. He is also survived by his daughter Kathy Baker and husband Tim of Charlottesville, VA and their family - Zach Baker and wife, Justine (Nora) of Richmond, VA and Kaitlin Baker of Indianapolis, Indiana. Lastly, he is survived by Andy’s wife Connie Moore and daughter Tracy Moore of Kenbridge, VA as well as numerous nieces and nephews throughout the states of Virginia and North Carolina. Charles lived and served in the communities of Greensville and Brunswick counties for most of his life. He served as pastor of Warfield Baptist Church for over 50 years. His devotion to the ministry and people of that church is beyond compare. He believed in service to God through the care of God’s people and lived that philosophy not only at Warfield Baptist Church but in multiple community leadership roles and activities throughout his life. Most notably in his “retirement”, he was a member and Sunday School Teacher at Main Street Baptist Church in Emporia, VA and spent many hours supporting the mission of the Samaritan House, also in Emporia, VA. Charles will not only be remembered for his service to God and community but also for his love of music. He shared a passion for the guitar with his son Andy and his ability to participate in many musical groups

over the course of his life brought him great joy. Thanks to his many friends and family who visited with him in his last days and helped him pass peacefully from this world to the next.
