Charles Franklin "Frankie" Bowen

Charles Franklin “Frankie” Bowen, age 83, of Gasburg, VA, passed away Thursday, August 5, 2021.Born in Lawrenceville, he was the son of the late Herbert Franklin and Georgia Louise Edmonds Bowen. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Leslie Edwards Bowen; mother and father-in-law, Zeb and Vallie Bennett; and his faithful companion, Rascal. Frankie was a retired employee of VDOT. He is survived by his wife, Yvonne “Bonnie” Bowen; a son, Charles R. “Randy” Bowen of Gasburg, VA; nephews, Wade Bowen and wife, Cheryl of Lawrenceville, Ricky Woodard and wife, Beth of Brodnax, James Bridgeman of Roanoke Rapids, NC, and Jarman Bennett, Jr. and wife, Anita also of Roanoke Rapids; special nieces, Helen Woodard and Lisa King both of Brodnax, and Debra Harrison of Roanoke Rapids. A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at James Square Baptist Church followed by interment in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church for one hour prior to the service. Arrangements are by Williams Funeral Home & Crematory of Lawrenceville.
