Cecil Frederick Lucy

Cecil Frederick Lucy, age 90, of DeWitt, VA, passed away Saturday, March 28, 2026.

A lifelong resident of Dinwiddie County, he was the son of the late Edward T. and Pearl Hawkins Lucy. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Charles Lucy, Lawrence “Pete” Lucy, Marvin “Bootie” Lucy, and Alice Westfall.

Cecil was a lifelong horseman, raising, training, and showing Arabians. He was a dedicated member of Rocky Run Church for many years and a retired employee of Dinwiddie Public Schools. He will be fondly remembered by his family as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.

Mr. Lucy is survived by his wife of 68 years, Loretta H. Lucy; two sons, Cecil Wayne Lucy and wife, Charlotte, and Steve Lucy and wife, Donna; grandchildren, Travis Lucy, Andrew Lucy, Alan Lucy, and Shelby Lucy; great-grandchildren, Grayson, Maverick, Emerson, and Sawyer, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 31, 2026 at Rocky Run Church in DeWitt, VA, followed by interment in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the funeral service beginning at 10:00 a.m.
