Catherine Rice Martin

Catherine Rice Martin, age 101, of Alberta, VA, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her children, on March 23, 2023. Born April 17, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Pascal and Annie Rice of Ashville, North Carolina, and was widowed after 75 years of marriage to Joseph E. Martin.

She is survived by her children, Ann Mayton, Mary Louise Rice, Joseph Martin (Dale), Barbara Harrell (Larry), Bonnie Clements (Donnie), Beverly Orr (Dale), and Catherine Bowen (Truman), numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Ruby Tennessee Bryant, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 27, 2023 at Crestview Memorial Park, La Crosse, VA.
