Calvin Nathaniel Crowder, Jr.

On Wednesday, July 7, 2021, Calvin Nathaniel Crowder, Jr., son of the late Calvin Nathaniel Crowder and Olive Katherine Slayden, died at his home after an extended illness. He would have been 83 years old on August 8, 2021.He is survived by his loving wife, Dolly Beck Crowder; his daughter, Lisa Crowder; his son, Calvin “Brad” Crowder (Erika); granddaughters, Helen G. Kendall and Virginia C. Kendall; his siblings, Betty Ann Hoyle (Robert); Lois Arpaia, Lee Crowder, Jack Crowder, and Gary Crowder, as well as many extended family members. Calvin was a master plumber and owned and operated Sligh Plumbing and Heating in Hopewell for many years. He cherished the long-standing friendships he made there through the years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing golf at area golf courses, and camping at bluegrass festivals. He and Dolly were married for sixty-three years. A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at Merchants Hope Memorial Gardens, Prince George, VA. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
