Alton Winfred Malbon, Jr.

Alton Winfred Malbon, Jr., age 61, of Raleigh, N.C. passed away February 25, 2023.  He is the son of the late Alton Winfred Malbon, Sr. and Sara Seward Malbon.

Alton was a graduate of Virginia Military Institute.  He served in the United States Army for over nine years and continued his military career with the N.C. National Guard and the U. S. Army Reserve. 

He is survived by his brother, Steven Malbon of North Chesterfield, VA; an aunt, Susan Malbon Cocke of Richmond, VA; and cousins, Jane Bell Abbe of Richmond, VA, Bennett Malbon of Boston, MA, David Seward of Brodnax, VA, Donna Via of Charlottesville, VA, Debra Fletcher of Charlotte, N.C., Pamela Walsh of Virginia Beach, VA, Kimberly Cullipher of Virginia Beach, VA, Michael Cullipher of Pungo, VA and Ann Monahan of Wakefield, VA. 

A memorial service will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 11, 2023 at Rock United Methodist Church, 75 Rock Church Road, Lawrenceville, Virginia.  The family will receive friends after the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Rock UMC c/o Cathie Abernathy, 283 Hammack Road, Gasburg, VA 23857.
